Email from Currys?

Hi,


I'm so confused!! Just received this WEM from Currys, has anyone else received one? This is regarding the 50 x £50 giftcards, T&Cs are http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/christmas-hint-terms-1197-commercial.html and I still don't get it!

Congratulations! Thank you for entering our Christmas promotion. We want to try and help you get what you really want this Christmas by passing on your hint to your partner, friend, family member or loved one.

It will be live on 11/9/2015 at Charing Cross Rail Station, between the hours of 6am-10am and 4pm-8pm, so let them know to keep their eyes peeled.

Presumably your "hint" will be displayed on the advertising boards at the station - the person you want to drop the hint to sees it and then goes and buys whatever it was you wanted.

When a submission is selected for the gift hint campaign, the entrant will be contacted using the email address/phone number provided at the time of entry. The entrant’s first name and surname will be displayed in the advertisements. The advertisements will also contain the first name of the person the entrant selected to be the recipient of the hint.

Does this mean there will be an advert on at Charing Croos

Nope, still don't get it. I can get to that station after work on that day so will try to trot along to see what they mean! I remember the "hint" which was something along the lines of "she doesn't want a bath bomb..." when I said I wanted an Xbox One!

You gave the details of someone you wanted to drop a hint to about what to get you for Christmas - presumably you indicated they could be contacted at charing cross station.

At the date/time they have said the name of the person you choose to send a hint to will be displayed along with your hint to them and your name as well.

It says the advertising campaign is "in addition" to the prize draw itself. So perhaps there are more peoples' submissions being used for advertising than the 50 picked for gift cards? Either the 50 gift cards go to 50 of the however-many peoples' submissions are being used for advertising or the prize draw is completely separate and some/all of the 50 winners won't actually have their submission used?

It says the prize draw is at the end of the promotional period (which closes 9th Dec) so there shouldn't be any winners of the gift cards yet.

I think you've won from the daily draw. The end of the promo draw is only for 1 x £50, so the other 49 must be the daily ones. That's my interpretation of the T&C's.

Draws: Entries received each day will be entered into a draw where winners are randomly selected. There will be 1 draw at the end of the promotional period for £50 vouchers.

I don't think you have won £50 , just an email to say the funny hint will be shown

What happens next?

We'll send you an email to let you know whether you've been chosen to have your hint displayed in your chosen location, so keep your eyes peeled.

And remember, you've also been entered into our competition to win a £50 voucher so we'll send you an e-mail to let you know if you've won one of these too!

Quick update, I asked about the email to Currys on Twitter and got this response:


"Congratulations ****! Your prize will be emailed to you within the next 28 days :-) Richard"


So hopefully I did win a gift-card, if not....well they did tell me I did
