24.8.07 what small DFW thing will you do or have you done today?

Good Morning fellow DFW Peeps and welcome old timers and newbies alike :hello:

TGI Friday!!!!!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging the washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.

So, today I will:
  • do piggy comps, clicks and surveys
  • shop around for the best value school uniform
  • check online banking and update spreadsheet
  • do storecupboard meal
  • do a couple of small matched bets
  • hope that one thing sells on ebay that ends today, currently 0 bids though
  • list at least two more things on ebay/amazon
  • be positive
  • send off for some freebies from the freebies board
  • keep working on my new budgets
Have a good day everyone, and looking forward to the long weekend xx

I've done my spreadsheets, and as I thought August was terrible. On a positive note  our debt has reduced, but by only £305 :( . September is looking much better........
    So today:
    - piggy & quidco clicks done.
    - I bought a book in a new DFW way. :D Having wanted it for some time I then checked the prices on-line and found Waterstones and Foyles had it £1.50 cheaper than Amazon, but Quidco cashback was 1% better on Foyles and there was no delivery charge on one book. So different from my pre-LBM when I'd have bought 3 or 4 books to get free delivery from Amazon. No price comparison, no "do you need/want or can afford it" mantra :rotfl:
    - I'm going to think more positively as nasty August rolls to an end. September = a new start.
    - Choux Gallette (sp?) for supper. (cabbage pie, though sounds better in French :D )

Hooray, it's Friday! Lovely day here :)

    Today I have/will...
    - done a detailed budget for the month (well that was last night actually), it's a little bit scary but do-able, especially if the stuff I've got on eBay sells OK
    - brought leftovers for lunch.. curry and noodles.. mmmmm
    - going out for a meal and drinks later and have already checked the restaurant menu online to work out roughly what it'll cost, am also planning to have a few soft drinks to cut down what I spend (this is really unlike me, but I guess it's a good change!)
    - put some credit on my 'old' mobile so I get free texts next month, this works out cheaper than using my new one for texts, although it's a bit of a pain having to use two! It's put me waaaay over my weekly budget but will hopefully mean savings later in the month.
    - just off to check my eBay stuff!

    Have a good day!
