I have a loan which is now paid through Step change, I got in touch with Stepchange around the begining of October as suddendly got demand for arrears (this has been the difference between the due amount and the reduced amount agreed, had been up to date up to that point) as well as getting letters asking for direct debit details. Stepchange stated they would get in touch with them to remind them about it being paid with them. I sent a letter asking for interest to be freezed but not had a reply. I got another letter asking for direct debit details and today a letter stating if I do not repay the arrears they will start legal action. I will scan the letter and send it to Stepchange, but is it worth me writing again to remind them off the plan with stepchange and asking for the interest to be frozen? I am not sure how long I have to leave it before contacting the ombusman. They (ombusman will be fed up with me after a lengthly complaint regarding very:rotfl:)
thanks

I suspect you may be recieving automated letters, sent when an account goes into arrears, either that or they are just plain stupid.
A letter reminding them that the account is paid through stepchange, and that all correspondence should be addressed to them, may pour oil on troubled waters.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
