This may not be the right forum, but after the Talktalk 'hack', I was surprised that people would need to be warned about not using the same passwords elsewhere - it's easy for websites to avoid this problem, so even if 'encrypted' passwords are stolen, they won't work anywhere else.. If they add a prefix to our passwords before calculating the 'hash' code, it won't match the usual databases of common passwords..
e.g. we type "password", and they add "Talktalk" before and maybe "2015" after, then the hash code won't match "password", or "BBCpassword", etc.
