Is 13 year old MBNA debt enforceable?

Hello.
I have an MBNA account which I could not make payments on in 2003. Now, I have DLC (Willesden Securities Limited) hounding me for the amount, which has gone from one collection agency to the next.
I attempted to make good on this debt by sending £1 monthly payments back in 2012, but stopped shortly after.
I had PPI insurance on this account, and do not know why I am still being pursued.
Can a debt the old still be valid?

Between 2003 and 2012 did you make any payments?:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Then you have kept the debt alive, so yes you are still liable for it.0

Hold horses here.
Often these debt files come with no CCA and no information or payment history.
They hope to fish that from you.
You start with a CCA demand letter
Then if they cough that you send a Statute barred notice.
If they do not have proof, they are goosed, you do not give them any info or what you paid to who.
Having seen some of these sold on debt files they are often only 3 lines of information.
Date of loan, last debt firm, amount of loan outstanding.I do Contracts, all day every day.0 -

The question there really should be, was there ever a period of 6 years at any time between 2003 and 2012 during which you neither acknowledged the debt in writing or made a payment?Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Have you claimed your PPI back, it didn't seem to be much use did it? Use that money to pay off the loan.0
