wisedom from all debt dieters

Hi,

Being in industry for many years, I have seen over those years what valuable knowledge and wisedom is lost by people moving on in one way or another, leaving to other jobs, retirement or "growing wings" as my daughter so nicely puts it.

Often these people move on and take there knowledge with them, so the new stock coming in at the bottom have to learn all over from scratch.

As I have just read about Alison winning the competition and some of her dieting tips, it occured to me that there must be literally hundreds of ideas and tips from the compitition and other sources that could be compiled into a resorse for cutting debt and "money saving"

Could it not be possible for the forum admin' folk to start this off.

Many thanks Steve

    Hiya Steve

Can you explain more fully what your idea is? This whole site is dedicated to money saving, getting and staying out of debt, money managing and being consumer savvy, so I don't really understand what you mean :o

Make your own Pot Noodles using a flower pot, sawdust and some old shoe laces. Pour in boiling water, stir then allow to stand for two minutes before taking one mouthful, and throwing away. Just like the real thing!

The debt dieters would be a good place to start I thought.

As to there being to many, they could be checked out by the moderators and added as new ones come along if voted to be really, really good

Theres a search function that can come in useful if you are looking for aspecific area of saving but I have found in my 3 years using the site the best thing to do is actually read the site daily and pick up and use the tips given.

Also have you read Martins books the Money Diet and Thrifty Ways what were compiled from users and threads on the site. Martin is as far as im still aware in the process of putting together another one to do with Debt Elimination,

Exactly - the DFW forum is a one-stop shop for debt-busting and money saving tips.

The best cost-cutting tips are the ones tailored to the specific individual's situation - posting up an SOA will almost certainly attract a multitude of money-saving suggestions.

For money-making ideas, follow one (or more) of the many challenges where folk will share tips and tricks that have actually worked/are working for them. They're also good for motivation when you need a bit of a boot up the backside! :D
