Reclaiming old bank charges - Cooperative?

Hi there everyone.
So, as some might know, I've been on a bit of a mission lately; it started with Lowell and dealing with them pretty successfully!
My next step is to tackle charges from an old bank account. I was with the Cooperative Bank from 2008 - 2014; the account was closed by them because I went overdrawn too many times (by mere pence). Throughout the six years I was with them, I was actually charged multiple times and now, I want to see if I can reclaim - particularly because at the time they closed the account, I was in extraordinarily difficult circumstances; I was days away from travelling to England from NI for my disabled daughter to undergo a serious spinal operation and they left me with absolutely no facility to manage my money.
I was going to send them a SAR with the enclosed £10 fee, but am I right in thinking that I can simply ask for a list of charges for free?
Thanks in advance!

Hi
You can just request the information for free initially. If the bank are reluctant you can force their hand with a SAR and £10.
There is a useful MSE guide to reclaiming bank charges here:

The reclaim guide is out of date. OP the chances of reclaiming charges on a closed account are very low. Search on the reclaiming board for more information.0

Thanks! I'll have a look now shortly. I'm tempted to just send the letter anyway after reading the article - it does say chances are slim but that it's worth trying. The worst they can do is say no as I don't have any accounts with them anymore.0
