  • If you go BR, the maximum you would pay on an IPA is the £50 you earn from online surveys, as that is the only earned income you have. The OR will not ask for any contribution from state benefits. There may be some good ideas re your budget from others, and that is a good place to start, but I would take those on board whilst stopping the online surveys. Then there is no contribution necessary at all.

You will not be allowed to list a guarantor payment, or any other payment to family, as an expense on your SOA, but doesn't matter. If you feel you can give your dad the money, in cash maybe, to make the payment to the guarantor loan then what you do with your, effectively, untouchable state benefit income is entirely down to you.

Thank you so much for all your replies.

With regards to seeing a therapist I don't think I could face that at the moment I've never met one that seemed even remotely friendly or like they wanted to be there.

The coffees are my partners so I'm gonna up the nagging:o
We defo need to cut down on the eating out expenses, I think I might cook and freeze some meals.

Well done for stopping smoking northener and thank you for your advice.

I've just got my checkmyfile credit report and I'm super confused both of my Satsuma loans listed as provident list late payments - but not default and show the accounts as closed and settled with a balance of zero.

I've never made a payment on these. Does this mean it will stay on my report but I don't have to pay? Sorry if that's a stupid question.

Also Quidie shows the same closed on a balance of zero for Call Credit but it's open defaulted with a balance of £200 on Equifax.

Have you read this guide http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/credit-cards/mental-health-guide. As for the smoking what about vaping?
  • Satsuma loans are a subsidiary of Provident. If it shows as zero, the likeliest explanation is that it will also say "Debt assigned to CAIS member" which means it has been sold. Probably to Lowells.

£50 would be a very good monthly income for surveys, are you sure you're getting this much?

If it's not £50 cash in hand every month then you need to re-adjust your budget.

I would also suggest keeping a spending diary to see where that extra is going that you can't currently account for. I did one for the same reasons and 2/3 weeks in it quickly became clear.

I now keep a complete (cash/cards/DD etc) spending diary every month. It allows me to track to the penny what I am spending, discourages and makes me think twice about paying out for stuff I may not need, and easily afford what is important to me.
