Online Shopping T&Cs Question

*Apologies if this is in the wrong place, I was a bit confused about where to put it.

So I recently got into a bit of a fight with an online brand after returning some clothes as I didn't like them (The fit, and also I didn't think they were made very well). The clothes were in a sale, and the sites terms state they only refund with credit for sale items, I did not know this when I placed the order.

My question is - am I covered by distance selling rules regarding buying items without seeing them first, and the 28 day cancellation/cooling off period, and do I have legal rights to a proper refund?

Everything I find online mentions refunds generally as a legal right but doesn't refer to anything like store-credit-only refunds.

Can anyone help? I don't want a lot of money sitting unused in credit with this brand that I'll have to spend "just to use it up" when I could get it back and put it to better use.

Please help!
