Making A Slow Comeback

Options
Tonight has been my first time on here in nearly 2 months - think I forgot how many comps are on here for each day!!!
Had to have some time out after having major problems with my health, I'd heard Crohn's was bad but hoped never to experience it. Never mind, taken a while but my GP has finally found something to help with the pain -liquid Morphine is amazing stuff, never been drunk but being spaced is great when in lots of pain! So I'm starting on here slowly though very much doubt I'll be able to comp how I did before this kicked in until I'm properly in remission, which makes me gutted that I'll miss out on some great Christmas comps, but there will always be next Christmas!
Thank you to all the amazing people that spend their time finding and puting comps on here, and the BGs who watch over the board.

Happy comping and good luck to everyone!

Hi Hannah great that you are back. Hope your pain eases.

Just do what you can re comping. It's a hobby and should not stress you. Just think every comp you enter you have a chance of winning and then forget about it and who knows in the future you might be surprised.

    Good luck.
  • Thank you. I think I'll be dipping in and out of it for now until I'm over this stage, that way my toes are still in but I'm still getting plenty of rest. I was quite lucky in the run up to taking a break so am hoping I will be again.

    Good luck yourself

I can sympathize with the pain, I was diagnosed with IBD a few years ago (at the young age of 19) after four years of not interested/ miss diagnosis by doctors (they claimed it was because I was born with an a damaged bowel, they couldn't give a correct diagnosis-until I nearly died that was:(). I consider painkillers a food group now :o Some days I don't have the energy to move let alone turn the computer on and others I'm rearing to go. My last flare up was August so I've got my fingers crossed I'll get through Christmas (sadly missed it last year due to kidney complications) Good luck with your health and comping :)

I can sympathise with you - I have Crohn's too - in my small bowel - and some days I just want to curl up and die. Lost loads or weight too so I feel weak alot of the time. It annoys me when people say - I wish I had Crohn's so I could lose weight! I hate having to watch what I eat and cannot eat certain foods AND I am lactose intollerant too just to make matters worse! Good luck with your comping :)
:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea

I have Coeliac disease, dairy intolerance and other food allergies on top of mine :( It does hurt and make me a bit angry when people 'wish' themselves ill just so they could loose weight... if only they knew the reality.

It's a relief when others know exactly how you feel, though I'm sorry to each of you for having the problems you do. That saying of 'Life's a b**ch' really is true sometimes. I find people can't (and often don't want to) understand how much our lives are effected by an 'invisible' illness. My Dad and Brother finally made an effort to try to understand after my consultant diagnosed, before then I don't think neither thought I was in as much pain as I am. Mine's only early on so I'm hoping it can be got on top of and in control for a while, going back Monday to discuss next step as Steroids on their own only had a minute impact. I have various other life long problems so was so annoyed to develop yet another one, but that's the way life goes! I'd rather it be me whose life is already impacted rather than my Dad or Brother who are living life happily.
Anyway, to all of you, I hope your pain gets reduced soon, and you're feeling better than you have been soon and are able to enjoy Christmas.
    Take care
