Re morgage

Sorted new deal and have come up against a problem....there is a restriction on the land registery of my property. It goes back 20 years and I thought I had removed it when divorced, 10 years ago...(ex got nothing at the time and havn't seen him since)...but apparently only removed a caution..I have remorgaged twice since this time and nothing has come up...solicitor who dealt with the issue previously said the restriction should not stop me remorgaging but does not seem to understand the property is in my name only and I should be free to do what I want with the property....any thoughts would be appreciated.
