My wife and I are considering going bankrupt, we have a house but it is too expensive to run, can I just hand the keys into my lender, if so do I do this before or after i go bankrupt. we are looking at rentals near us and it looks like we could have one soon just don't know if it would effect the bankruptcy. we are not interested in keeping the house as it needs loads of work and there can't be a lot of equity in it. Anyone that has been ther or knows anything about it i would much appreciate any advice

Well 1st it will cost you £ 335 + £ 150 times two people.
Why not sell and avoid bankruptcy - or are there other debts ? Check any tenancy agreement for a ' no bankrupt' clause. You may have to pay some of your spare income to the OR for 3 years if you go bankrupt.
