Moorgate & Roxburge
Options
Dear All
I have two questions regarding two creditors i have, would appreciate any help/advice on either please
Moorgate - does anyone have any guidance on dealing with them, i am in dmp with payplan, main creditor was hsbc approx 22k, this was back in 2009, the debt was sold to moorgate quite quickly from 2009 and now stands at 13k, i have offered them 8k and then 9k as an F&F and both offers have been rejected, they are an awkward company to deal with as they won't tell me what they will accept, they let you make an offer then accept or refuse, i was hoping for some idea from anyones experience on a %tage they are looking for so i can make an offer they will hopefully accept.
Roxburgh - They are included in my DMP as mentioned above, i owe them approx 156.00, this debt was sold to roxburgh from a company called combined insurance, i tried to speak with roxburgh to make a full payment to close the account and it turns out that they have gone bust, after researching on the web i found that roxburgh is in admin with some solicitors called David Rubin. i am going to pay this balance off as i have worked to hard to clear my debt down to get into a mess over 156.00 but my question is how do i get this removed from my credit report, roxburgh won't do it as they no longer exist, david rubin won't do it, i asked and they said they were just the administrator so how do i get it marked as paid off on my credit file.
Any help on either predicament would be greatly appreciated
Regards Bruce

1) There's no reason for Moorgate to give you what they would feel is an "acceptable" figure. If, say, they told clients they'd accept 80% of the value, then word would get out, and they'd never be offered more than that. Then people would start offering 80% of 80%, and so on...
2) Write to the credit referencing agencies."Facism arrives as your friend. It will restore your honour, make you feel proud, protect your house, give you a job, clean up the neighbourhood, remind you of how great you once were, clear out the venal and the corrupt, remove anything you feel is unlike you... [it] doesn't walk in saying, "our programme means militias, mass imprisonments, transportations, war and persecution."0 -
Thanks for that Gaz, yes i realise what you are saying, i was hoping for those that have had an accepted F&F so i had some sort of idea on where to go from here. Problem is i am not sure if i am 1.00 off being accepted or miles off
Who are the credit referencing agency, do you mean Experian?

Thanks
Hi Bruce
There are actually three credit reference agencies and it's worth contacting each to ensure your file is amended across the board.

I'm not sure that the OP (or anyone) would expect them to respond with "It is our policy to accept offers of 80% or higher of the outstanding debt."
Many DCA's do "counter" with "We cannot accept your offer of x but are willing to settle the account for y."
"Y" may or may not be higher than what they'll actually accept.0
