Who can accompany me?

The site manager told my boss that I was not allowed on site. The work on that site is now finished and we are due to move to another site with obviously a different site manager. I presumed, maybe naively, that I was suspended ie kept out of the way until we completed the job and then move on to the new site
Given the length of service, that would depend on what actually happened and the employers attitude both to that, and to the idea of keeping you suspended on full pay when they can dismiss - and probably with immediate termination without notice. It is rarely a good idea to get into disputes with other people at work, whoever you / they work for. From the reaction of the client here, it sounds as if they consider this to be more than a friendly disagreement about who to vote for on "Strictly...".
But unless you tell us what really happened, it's impossible to suggest to you whether there may be a way of mitigating the matter and saving your job.0 -
Have they used the word disciplinary?
If not, and happy to be proven wrong but I don't believe there is any right to be accompanied to an investigation etc.
If they then pull you in for a disciplinary then of course you have rights to be accompanied.Don't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked0 -
Depending on the details of what happened and your explanation, they may look to give a warning rather than dismiss.
However they're going to be looking for assurances that you're not going to end up in a "dispute" with other workers on other sites you may attend in future. So have a good think about what happened and how you would avoid conflict in similar situations in future.
Is the meeting part of the investigation, or is it a disciplinary hearing. Why can't you ask your colleague to attend? You may prefer a relative or friend but the law says otherwise. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Thanks for your comments guys. I will attend meeting tomorrow and report back but I think I know what the outcome will be.0

I used the workers mobile phone to access his Facebook profile and added some not very nice comments(which I thought was just a bit of fun). The guy lost his temper, smashed his helmet and tried to kick me before storming off. I phoned him a little later to apologise and see if he was ok,but he said he was at home, which was very odd seeing he is supposed to lock up the site is he left without locking up!0

I'd say that is serious. I would be very annoyed if this happened to me (someone gaining access to my phone in the workplace and posting on Facebook without my permission). You are in a professional environment. I would expect to be dismissed if I did this. The Computer Misuse Act may apply here.
Now, if I was down the pub and had a lot to drink and a close friend did this to me, then I may see the funny side (assuming the remarks were not too offensive). There is a time and a place for everything. I think it was neither the time nor the place in your case.
I am no expert though. What did you post on Facebook?0 -

Sorry but I would feel quite justified in telling you that your job has ceased - it's an immature act and I wouldn't employ immature people.0 -

You still sound like you're blaming him for his response. You need to accept responsibility for being completely out of order. Whether he locked up or not is not relevant and not your concern. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

I think that the site manager would not have been involved and therefore would not have banned .me from the site if the worker would have done his job properly and locked up. We could have sorted out our differences between ourselves0
