2 months in, and all a bit *shrug*

Its 8 weeks tomorrow since I went bk, and all in all its been a bit of a non-event! The only thing that has been horrible was seeing it in the paper, but apart from my landlord (who knew anyway) no one has mentioned it at all, so I assume no one saw it, or didn't realise it was me.
Workwise, I am now just working 2 days a week for my church, and am on housing benefit as I'm only earning just under £100 a week. I am looking out for another little part-time job, but will only take the 'right' one at the moment as I am not sure I could cope with the 'wrong' one just now and would end up a wreck, which of course I don't want! Ironically, even though being on HB means I'm only allowed eq of Job Seekers to live on, I've actually got more free cash than I have had in donkeys years - isn't that insane??
I have only heard from the OR once sonce my interview, which was on the day I went BK, and he has been fine - in fact he laughed that I had called him the very day I started work, and has asked me to get a revised SOA to him soon, and he will remind me if he hasn't heard in 2 months time!
I'm getting used to having to use cash most of the time (I do have an electron card - coop) but am missing my chequebook for paying for things by post. Apart from that I haven't really noticed anything.
So why this post? Not a major reason really. Just to catch up as I dont have internet very much now, and to let anyj of you who are still having a rough ride know that it does get better.
Love to you all
Ruth

Hi.

Nice to hear you are getting on OK. I did wonder how things were going.
Hopefully things will continue to steadily improve. BR can relieve some enormous burdens, but it's not a quick fix. The difficult stuff takes time.

Hi Rufus, I'm 2 months in today too, and I understand the "all a bit *shrug*" totally. It's odd how things settle down and life eases forward.
I miss being able to shop online, and I can deal with that by getting a prepay card of some sort. And I worry about affording stuff, for example my sofa decided just after bankruptcy was a good time to collapse. So I would have gone and got one on credit before. Now we are having to manage and try to put a bit by to save up for one.
But when I get that new sofa, oh man, I'm going to love it!
Happy 2 month anniversary!0 -
Can you not have a look on freecyle for a sofa? I got mine on there and it's lasted me really well and even going back on there next week when my friends gives me her sofa.
And pleased things are going ok for you Ruth, I hope things are like this for me in a couple of weeks when I do the deed...
