Pay increase

First guy to name a price in a negotiation, loses.
Moving employers is a risk, you might hate the new job. Only you can determine what right amount is.
Nothing embarressing discussing salary with current employer.
I would not, personally, try and play offers of against each other
Ps, I would never give my current renumeration package, only what I'm looking for. A0 -
The only thing recruitment agencies care about is that one of their candidates gets the job.
The percentage increase largely depends on what you're getting in the first place. If you go from a £12k job to a £15.5k job then that's roughly a 30% increase, if you go from £35k to £38.5k that's a 10% increase but in real terms its increased by the same amount.
I would definitely stand my ground with salary expectations, they know that if they convince you to take 10% rather than 30% they could try and sell you to a prospective employer on the basis you'll do the role for less money than other candidates.
I've had agencies try to talk me into taking a pay cut for my next role because it's a great opportunity to grow or some nonsense like that, I just told them where to go.0
