Have black dots appearing on upper walls, ceiling in certain areas. I am not sure whether the cavity wall insulation that was pumped into the walls (like small beads) years ago has 'dropped' or something else? I do not know whether I need to turn to a builder, surveyor, but would rather get advice rather than a pure quote for work when that work may not be what we need. Has anyone had experience of this. Any good advice would be appreciated.

It is in all probability Condensation. Is the room well ventilated?I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0

Yes, having read more about this problem. it is condensation and damp. I have condensation inside the windows every morning...black areas on ceilings walls...
I am cleaning it off and leaving gaps between walls and furniture..all the obvious practical things but I am convinced that one of the outside walls..the inside skirting boards feels 'wet'...need to know where to go to get help. I am not sure whether we have a damp proof course. there is no 'tide' mark but there is a shadow on the outside wall you can see coming through the white paint....:beer:0 -
is there a company I can call to help fix this?:beer:0

There are a lot of variables in assessing your issues. It may be condensation, but if skirtings are wet, then it sounds like issues like rising damp or penetrating damp. You would need a survey done to first assess the problem and suggest prevention measures and then remedial works0
