Obtaining JSA

Hi,
I've been made redundant am am looking to go onto the dole until I get work. I did receive a payoff from work and I intend to take some time off for a holiday (2 weeks) in order to destress.
From checking with the SSA, I am eligible for the Non Means Tested JSA. However, the literature states that you must be available for and actively seeking work. I am applying for work and awaiting interviews.
Does this mean I cannot apply for JSA until I return from holiday?
Can I at least register in order to get my stamps paid for?
Thanks.

To get JSA you have to be in this country and actively seeking work so if you are abroad then you can't get any including your NI contributions.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

I would register and apply immediately you have left your work. It will take the civil servants a good wee while to process your claim and how will they know you are on holiday
? You have earned your entitlement to benefit through your previous work. Not your fault you have been made redundant. Good luck with the job-hunting!
