Take a Break - Bauer media

I was wondering if anyone has had any problems with receiving a prize from Take a Break (Bauer Publishing) before?

I received a letter saying I'd won a prize and if I haven't received it within 28 days to get in touch.

So the prize hasn't arrived and I've called the number, where you get to a voicemail and I've not had anyone call me back :(

Thanks

Clearly it's right to allow their specified 28 days before contacting them, but after that I recommend not giving them too long to respond before firing off more polite, but 'disappointed' emails. Mine got sorted in the end only by perseverance.

If all else fails, put a polite message on their TAB Facebook page (say you are a bit disappointed, but don't be rude or anything, IYSWIM)
I was waiting for a prize for about 3 months from them, and after being fobbed off for about a fortnight with 'we'll look into it emails' I just posted on Fb, and it was sorted within 3 days. Sometimes social media is a wonderful thing.

Didn't receive a code for a website design tool earlier this year, it was a Click2Win competition via PhotoAnswers. I emailed after approx 6-7 weeks (I'd forgotten about it to be honest) and got a very apologetic response and the code to download it online the same day.

Well I sent them an email yesterday so I'll give them a few days to respond then let's see...
  • Check their Ts and Cs, because they usually HAVE to fulfill your prize within that or they can get into trouble. Mags are the worst for that!

They don't have to as there could be all sorts of acceptable reasons for a delay, sadly even if there are not good reasons the "trouble" usually amounts at most (even if a prize is never provided) to being asked not to do it again.
