Avoiding this isn't going to make it go away. I know it's stressful but you need to deal with it. People here will help you!
if you're not comfortable using the phone, is there someone else who can help you call? Even if you call Lloyds, tell them you're giving them permission to speak on your behalf, then they can deal with it.
The reason why you need to ring Lloyds today is that it doesn't sound like this is a legitimate DCA. Lloyds are not going to hand this over to a DCA 4 days after they've just sent you a letter outlining repayment options.
I suspect that this company is acting illegally and is trying it on with you. and if that's the case, there's letters you can send them to shut them up! But to find out if that's the case, you need to ring Lloyds. Is there anyone there who can help you with that?0 -
I have kept sending the £1 token payments.
one letter I got dated 15th August i spretty confusing ( from TSB )
it says... Quote...
Thankyou for your recent letter advising that you cannot make the requested payment. Whilst we cannot hold the account as you have asked, we are able to accept a reduced payment for an agreed number of months, even if the payment is a token.
Please telephone the Financial Management Unit on 01702 364875 so that we may reach an agreement.
We must advise you that should an agreement not be reached our action will continue. Following the issue of a default notice and a formal demand, the account will be passed to our Consumer Debt Recovery department. Please do not make any further payments to the account until this time.
yours sincerely...
manager
collections centre.
VERY confusing dont you think? on one hand it's saying I CAN send token payments and they would accept that for now.. but then at the bottom it says do not make any further payments to the account!!!!!!

Keep sending the payments and keep an eye to see if they are cashed. Is this a loan, bank account or credit cards as Lloyds handle them all differently.
I think what you need to do is write a formal complaint to them explaining you keep sending payments and they keep adding on charges, when they refer the debt on then interest should stop that seems to be there pattern.
If you let me know the kind of debt I may be able to help you further in the letter side as sadly I have had to deal with them!0 -
I'd still keep sending the payments. They seem to have agreed the lower payments for a number of months on one hand but then say you need to reach an agreement. That sounds like an agreement to me. Very confusing. As Climbgirl says, do you have anyone who can phone them for you?

The text was an extrememly vicious and cruel joke from an unknown third party ( google shows nothing re Primo-Repo and I dont recognize the number )
Teh TSB letter ( above ) confuses me in as much as they are saying i could continue to send token payments, and that would be ok, but then says DO NOT MAKE FURTHER PAYMENTS TO THE ACCOUNT until ( after? ) they've issued a th edefault notice/formal demand and passed the account over to the debt recovery department?
I'm going to keep sending them £1 tokens, at least until I can get an appointment with our local CAB so I can try and sort out the SOA sheet ( amounts owed continue to increase )
oh!.. having read the OFT guide thing.... ( link above )
Would I be right in saying TSB ( collection centre ) are breaking the OFT guidelines by NOT respecting my legitimate wish to communite by letter only?
Twice in seprate letters to them I have told them due to my condition I am unable to telephone them, and please make all correspondence by letter.

yes you are right. You need to write and formally complain re item 2. (think it is 6). of the OFT guidelines.
Added to that, there are rules about not causing further distress to vunerable people.
Send a copy to head office at TSB, and then contact the TSB on that area and the FSA or OFT.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -

I would also keep the text message in case you need to show it to as proof who sent it.

Own a house? me ! ?
No sorry, i have nothing. I dont even own the car i use ( it's my sisters, i can use it so long as i pay for servicing ( i do it ) fuel, mot, tax and insurance. It sounds very cold i know, but I did'nt mind the ever-growing debt so much as i was pretty sure it'd all sort itself out and be repaid after mums death ( but she left nothing, no insurance etc ) just DEBTS of her own ( which I'm still sorting out with death certs etc ). I've had to pay all the arrears on electic, telephone, gas, etc, as I live in the same house ( and thats sorted now, but I'm totally cleaned out ). I used to pay mum weekly to cover all those things, but, well.. there you go. Just had to pay telly licence a few days after her death ( we used to go halfers on all those kinds of things ) I paid a chunk towards the funeral too ( even though we got max benefit help, there was still more to pay ( long story, i wont bore you with it )
changed name over to mine on BT line from mums, and cheeky sods charged me 2 months line rental ( one up front ) as they treated me as a new account even though we've had THAT line since 1995 !!! Managed to get the extra 30+ by selling my watch to a mate.
