Is it worth a begging letter?

I began my DMP in june 2011, the total owed was £38,259
Now the end of the tunnel is so close i'm considering a nice begging letter to Moorgate asking for some goodwill to write off the last £545, my goal was to be paid off by Christmas but I just cant make it
I owe them £795 and hoping there is a chance they would accept one more payment of £250
They will have received over 94% of the balance they took over.
What do you think am I wasting my time as they know they will get the rest in a couple of months?

Hi Glen,
DCA`s don't operate like that I`m afraid, they only look at profit and loss, however, as you have repaid quite a substantial amount, I would say you have a pretty good chance of them accepting a small offer to settle.

Yeah going to try anyway, fingers crossed, would love to get it done by Christmas0 -
I did the same with Barclays I owed £3.5k and they accepted £1.1k, like you I couldn't face another xmas on a dmp this would have been my 7th xmas on a dmp. Barclays accepted my offer and I nearly fell off my chair! I can't speak for Moorgate - but I'd say go for it, I nearly didn't but so glad I did!0

I would write to them, telling them that a relative has 'offered' to settle all of your debts on a full and final basis only by Christmas, and make the offer of £250. Then see what happens. If they accept - great. If they don't - you are no worse off!"There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0

Whats the worst that could happen. They say 'no' You will be no worse off than before you asked.
No harm in trying

Meh waste of time, pretty much ignored what was actually in the letter and sent the standard response they want
Reason for offer
Amount being offered
Where funds are from
Financial statement
They already have all that info, just going to have to pay it now.0
