A 'little' sanity in my mad world

Opened a Halifax basic account a few weeks before Br and today it was frozen by them and i can't have it back:mad: tomorrow my wages are SUPPOSED to be paid in there, instead they will be floating around in 'bank computer space' until after the bank holiday.
This afternoon i decided i would trawl the local banks and see if any would offer me an account. First visit, Barclays. Accepted straight away, no problems, get a cash card (though it can't be used in shops, but thats probably a good thing). The people in there were lovely and really sweet to me.
I've panicked constantly about gettin a new bank account and it was so easy.:T
The other bit i had been dreading was my name going int he paper, well its in today and i care little or non:rolleyes:
Anyway this is more of a gripe/chance to let others know you can get bank accounts and quite easily as i know its a question asked a lot.

The first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter

I have a feeling that Nationwide are no longer accepting undischarged BR's. I'm sure someone will correct me if I am wrong.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0 -
I dont think nationwide are accepting bankrupts now, think they changed their policy a few weeks ago. I was lucky opened a nationwide account a couple of week before going bankrupt and was allowed to keep it open0

Hi,
I was given a cash card account by Barclays too - even though Barclaycard are one of my creditors - however, I still have this fear that when Barclaycard know that I am bankrupt - (a phone call from them today that I did not answer - it seems to be taking an age for my creditors to be informed)....my fear is they will then close my new cash card account.....although I must confess that absolutely everything that I worried about concerning bankruptcy has turned out okay in the end....
Betterlatethanever, I bet you were panicking when those nice people at the Halifax closed your a/c....I am so pleased that Barclays came to the rescue...If you think about it, they have nothing to lose by offering insolvent people a cash card a/c.......
Best wishes - hope all are doing okay.0
