We stayed at the George hotel a few years ago and it was terrible. The room hadn't been cleaned properly, there was a generator right outside our window that sounded like concord landing and our view was the generator and a load of rubbish on the flat roof.
In the dining room that evening there was only us and one other couple and when we got the food it was obvious why. My husband had a risotto that seemed like it had been cooked then reheated into a big lumpy mess. The decor was odd to say the least - dusty plastic flowers and a shower curtain covering the door to the kitchen (all in what could be a lovely old building). We ate out the following night even though our meal was included.
When we got home I sent a letter of complaint and had a stroppy reply from the manager suggesting we didn't know what risotto was :rotfl: I complained to the company and they did give us a free stay for one night in the Leeds hotel which was fine. Hope they have made some changes to the George since then.Crazy clothes challenge 2017 - 30/3000 -

The Strathdon is a dump, there are far better hotels in Nottingham for little more money.0
