My husbands bankruptcy is up on the 11th of December, and it's only today that we have heard from the receiver about the equity in our home. We maybe in a position to buy out his beneficial interest but our home has been valued by the OR on local house valuations and due to the fact that we haven't had the funds to do any work on our house for quite some time, I believe our house wouldn't be valued as a similar house in the area, can you contest the OR valuation? Thanks in advance for any advice

Hi,
Yes you can challenge by obtaining your own private valuation, either a full report or perhaps a couple of estate agents valuations on a no obligation basis.
There should be room for negotiation if the property is of less value than the average.
