mortgage confusion

I have a mortage with first direct - offset tracker 2.49 (1.99 +BOE BR)
I'm looking to move home but it is taking a long time mainly due to the lack of housing supply. I have a mortgage offer from another lender @ 1.59 fixed for 2 years.
Is it worth trying to remortage with FD and get a better deal than I am on and then take that to the home that I will evenaully buy? Confused.
