Marks and Spencers Sparks card?

:hello:Hi

What is the Marks and Spencer Sparks card and how do you get one?

They asked me at the checkout if I have one, the self service tills ask if I have one, but there doesn't seem to be much information about it anywhere. It seems like the worst launched loyalty card ever.

I was hesitant to ask more about it at the time, as the checkouts were quite busy and I didn't want to hold the queues up. I also wasn't sure if it was some sort of credit card related perk, which I wouldn't want.

However, I shop at M & S quite a bit and my receipts keep telling me I could have earned points, so I would like to know more about it if anyone knows anything.

I use the internet regularly, but don't use apps, which I think was mentioned on the receipt- about getting the M & S app or something.

Thanks in advance.

There was a big table full of them at the front of the store when I went to M&S.

You earn points to unlock rewards such as 10% off food or early access to the sale. So in this respect it is more like the My John Lewis card. Its not like Tesco Clubcard where points = money off.

Err? I see you have a internet connection to be able to post this message.

So why don't you go to the M&S website. It will inform you there.

As said by other message posters, cards are every where in store. In mine they had a big self-standing display, with a young guy signing people up.

I got one by asking the cashier when using the self-service machine.

Its turning into a nightmare it seems.

People cannot activate their card, the queues of people waiting to get a card instore and only one staff member to do it.

Now I have the card its active, so friend spent £200 and let me us my card and get her 10%(the queue was too slow to get the card in store for her), so I try to see what deals are now open? Page says hello Donna, then input card number okay no problem. Then tells me card in use, no other details cannot go anywhere else on the hub. Yet they are saying you can see points used and what deals are now open. Er, no.

Picked one up in store yesterday. Activated it this morning on the M&S website and now have 10% off menswear to use in the next 12 days. DH needs a wedding suit so we'll go along to a larger branch near us and have a look this weekend. Other opening offers were 10% off ladies wear, childrens wear or food and flowers for 12 days. Seemed quite simple.

You can choose which opening offer you'd like plus they donate 1p to a charity (again, you get to choose) each time you shop.
  • I have a few receipts but forgot my Sparks card at the checkout. Does anyone know whether there is a facility to register missing Sparks points? I have had a look on the M & S website but I can't seem to find any information about logging missing points.

    Thank you

From what I understand about others who have the card, there are no points, it just logs your spending and occasionally offers you money off vouchers (such as 10% off a certain item or range) rather than getting you any points.

Yes you do collect points and depending on how many points you collect, the offers change. They are tailored towards your spend too. No you can't add points from receipts, they need to be added when the purchase is made.

I got mine on saturday 24th october. The lady who registered mine asked me which charity I wanted to support (1pin £ spent goes to chosen charity) and I chose McMillan. She said in the previous 2 days 76k had been raised

Can I just ask, what on earth do we get with the points? It's ridiculous, as I've been saving for a few months and I haven't received any offer I'd use. Anyway, these offers are pretty rubbish! It has to be the worst loyalty card EVER!
