Help! Mileage Dilemma

As a newbie, I'll have to find out. Still testing the water to see who's who. Not prepared to have that conversation with my line manager yet.0

Says quite clearly in the expenses policy. I will double check though.0

Thank you all for your input, you have been very helpful.0

If the fuel receipts must equal the claim, it's definitely a scam and they are inviting audit.“And all shall be well. And all shall be well. And all manner of things shall be exceeding well.”

Do you drive your own car or a company car? Very important question. If a company car then there may well be tax implications for you!“And all shall be well. And all shall be well. And all manner of things shall be exceeding well.”

My mileage claims need to have receipts that cover the cost for the fuel for the miles claimed. i.e., if I claim 200 miles I have to make sure I have a recipt that will cover approximately 4-5 gallons of fuel.
I'll ask in case it's confusion0 -
Unfortunately they have to be for fuel. Very frustrating!!
What if you drive an electric vehicle where no fuel is used but you can still claim 45p/mile Mileage Allowance Relief from the HMRC?:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

It's my own car.0

Ah, that's good. Then what I have said stands. Depending on the cubic capacity of your car's engine and the type of fuel, the correct way would be to submit fuel receipts which cover the fuel aspect of the payment only, which is a small fraction of what makes up the payment for employee owned vehicles.“And all shall be well. And all shall be well. And all manner of things shall be exceeding well.”
