It's Pay Day!!

Its payday today!

It gives me a warm glowing friday-feeling, I have money in the bank, all is well in the world! I can move money around my pots, pay things off and reduce my debt signature :j .

Unfortunately also comes along a spending frenzy-type feeling:mad: :o which i struggle to contain, so I treat myself to a pay day splurge.
Today - I had a Subway meal of the day Italian BMT for lunch Yummmmm.... (for those who don't know subway it's a ham and chees roll basically) for £2.99.

Whats your payday splurge??

My DF and I usually have a really nice bottle of wine on payday (he pays as he earns 2.5 x more than me!). Used to be Mr T's best champers (but we drank all that we'd bought while it was on offer!)

My personal splurge is transferring dosh into my sons' Uni fund :)

His pay day is last Thursday in month, mine is last working day, so payday vino is on his payday.

That's not good Kat! I'd kick up a fuss, tell them you've got direct debits coming out! Can they not do same-day payments and cancel the original one? Would cost them more in admin charges from the bank but it's their mistake! (I work in accounts and we've been known to have to do that for some things.. thankfully never a whole payroll though  ).

My payday splurge is usually something nice for tea when I do my 'big' first grocery shop of the month.. and quite possibly a bottle of wine.

I don't really have a payday splurge anymore. My money just seems to come in (and out) of my bank in direct debits. Am going to try to be very careful this month and tackle my spending diary again.

Well we shouldn't be paid til 26th, but as that falls on a sunday normal practice is they pay us the friday before (tomorrow!).

But accounts have dropped this clanger and say the funds won't hit our accounts til tues and we shouldn't have any problems as direct debits won't go out on monday as its bank hols - but its just not the point.

They have an obligation to pay us and they've broken it - but I just don't know where we stand with it! :(
  • We work for the same company and get paid monthly. It can be a struggle by the last week.
On payday I usually make us a curry with naan bread and the little nibbly bits -baji, those trangle things (lol)
Last payday we thought we would be more daring, went on a bus ride to doncaster bought a few things for the flat, had dinner at Greggs. Had takeaway for tea. Spend £30 wow! just going somewhere different lightened our moods.

    Hi Lindens,

D's E's & F's which was better than expected as he has mild learning difficulties.

He has whats he needs for his college course. Bless him, he's a lovely boy.
