Advice please.

Hello All,
I am new to this kind of thing so please bear with me.
5 years ago I was approached by a friend to help her run her Bathroom studio, I am self employed and am invoicing her monthly , we agreed that we would cap the invoice to build the work up as he was new in the retail business.
I invoice £2000 monthly, he gives me my tax certificate as per the self employment scheme, in June this year he did not pay me owing to the lack of sales, when I voiced my concerns I was told that i was there for sales.
I open the showroom up 6 days a week 8.30- 5pm , I am the only one in the showroom dealing with Reps, customers, deliveries and all the calls, I design, quote type all orders and unload when they arrive.
To be told that this is part of my sales agreement is somewhat unfair,I have been loyal to this company, since June I have not received all monies I have invoiced, I have even taken a 2 day freelance design job as to guarantee myself & family a small income.
Normally I am paid by the 25th of each month, so far nothing, when I ask as to when I will get it , all I get is '' we have not sold this moth so no money'' this is despite me working 18 days this month!!
I was told to amend my invoice to suit what she has paid me, also informed that my wording on my invoice s were wrong & should amend them to state Sales, not what I have put on them for the past 4 years, To man showroom & design for "£$^& showrooms.

I need advice as to where I stand in relation to what I am owed, I know I have been a mug and have only carried on because I have a young family to provide for.
I wont claim or go unemployed as I feel I am better than that.

Kind regards
Paddy 16:)

I presume the shift between "he" and "she" is a typo.

I would have thought your role seems to be that of an employee rather than a self employed contractor. If after asking you do not get your invoices paid, you need to write a "Letter Before Action" then go down the Money Claim On Line route. But it will probably end the friendship.
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales
