Settling old credit card debt through my DMP or diirect

I have been on a DMP, (Step Change) for over 10 years. These are credit card debts, circa £27k are with 5 different finance companies. They have changed hands several times over the years.
Only 1, a Barclaycard sold to Cabot in 2011 remains on my credit report.
I am now wanting to pay these debts off by offering a lump sum. Do I contact the companies individually or am I best go through Step Change. Also, how much would be an acceptable offer bearing in mind the age of these debts?
Thanks

Definitely do it yourself.
10 years!
Why is Barclaycard still showing? When was it defaulted?
What percentage can you go to?0 -
Hi,
I would do this myself, have you ever CCA'd any of these accounts ?
May be worthwhile if they are old debts, if any are deficient in paperwork, you could settle for much less.
That would be my first step before offering anyone anything !!!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Thanks for replying. Barclaycard says it was settled in 2011. Cabot bought it in 2013 and is now showing under DMP and is tracking every payment.
Sorry I didn't know about CCA'ed, Sourcrates.0 -
