Overpayment of salary

Long story short..i was on a temporary contract with the NHS which ended 30 Sept 2015. I found new employment and handed in my notice and left at the end of August. I have today had a text from my manager to say that she had not completed the termination form form and i had been paid at the end of September. My money management is very poor and the only time i check my account is when its in its minuses :(, my new job pays more than the last so i didnt feel the need to check anything...stupid i know
I have been told that the money will be recovered, will i have the option to pay back in instalments? she has given me the payroll department number but i wont have the time to call them until tomorrow. They wont be able to recover the money from my bank account without telling me will they?
she has also informed me that she hasnt been able to find a copy of the termination form to complete; that means they will be paying me again tomorrow...i dont have a contract of employment with them anymore...this is giving me a headache

all advice welcome

Pay them back straightaway for the one that is coming in tomorrow, the funds will be there to enable you to do this.

As for the other amount, yes, you would be able to ask for a payment plan. Ring them tomorrow and see what they say.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

McKneff makes a good suggestion about the payment that will incorrectly arrive today (limit the damage). I would suggest that when you send them a letter to offer to repay the incorrect September payment you also make it clear that you no longer wish to receive any further payments. You have correctly given them the information required to end the employment and this needs to be corrected through their internal processes ASAP or you will consider a formal complaint (it may also be worth sending a copy of this letter to the relevant department manager as well).

As for the money that is owed you should put together a SOA, work out what you need for your living expenses each month and make them an offer based on the money that you have spare.
