Feeling annoyed - Fragrance Direct comp

A few weeks back I came across a message in my "others" messages in Facebook saying I had won a bottle of Jimmy Choo from one of their comps. I hadn't been tagged or had an email regards this so by the time I got the message it had been over a week. I replied to their initial message and then messaged them directly again a couple of weeks later and still having no response, I then contacted their customer service who have told me today I am now too late to be eligible for the prize.
I'm not too bothered about missing out on the win, I appreciate that a few days had passed before I saw this message, but more annoyed at their complete lack of response to messages - a bit of common courtesy doesn't go amiss...
Anyway, that's my moan over for Monday

Always check your other folder. Your lucky they even bothered sending a message. Most just reply in the comments section of the comp you've posted in. If it was only a few days after they messaged you that you found it, does seem a bit daft for them to not give you the prize. Might have been in terms that you had to respond within 24/48 hours. A lot on fb say that.August-September 2017: Lots of stuff

I really hate it too when companies don't bother replying in regards to competitions or don't treat it seriously, I get some are 'big' companies but when they reply to every other query I think it's more that they can't be bothered and it does damage your perception of the company if you have a bad experience. They have to remember we are all consumers so taking weeks and multiple attempts to get some contact doesn't make them look very good.
I think you should point out that you tried to get into contact multiple times and the 'Other' folder isn't the best way to contact a winner, I think it even tells you that the person might not see it when you message someone you're not friends with. What's annoying about 'unclaimed prizes' is it's like these companies don't even realise that they weren't effective in contacting the winner, if someone entered it's very likely they would be claiming the prize if they knew they had won, they should try at least two different ways to contact and be more lenient with response time, especially on social media. If someone still doesn't claim after multiple contact then it's fair enough but seems like in this case they are being mean.0 -
I'm sure there is something in the cap code that says promoters must make reasonable attempts to contact a winner, one message on Facebook is not reasonable attempts imo. If you can have a search and find the relevant bit of the cap code I'd send that to them and tell them you don't think they made suitable attempts as they had the option of replying to your comment and announcing you publicly both which you had more chance of seeing.
I'd also reiterate that you did reply to the message and try to claim the prize but they ignored all your attempts at contact and again the asa and cap code say 28 days to claim a prize unless it's time critical such as ticketsYou never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Make your own Pot Noodles using a flower pot, sawdust and some old shoe laces. Pour in boiling water, stir then allow to stand for two minutes before taking one mouthful, and throwing away. Just like the real thing!0
