Manager - she had some control issues:
We all had to use matching company cups (no own ones)
Second pair of shoes at work that were not allowed outside and had to be changed into on arrival.
No food at all in the building inc the staff room.
No personal items on your desk - none.
and to top it all she treated the office like it was the hunger games and played everyone off against each other for her good favour (she did work and leave rotas and used it like a weapon)Please note I have a cognitive disability - as such my wording can be a bit off, muddled, misspelt or in some cases i can miss out some words totally...0 -
Co-worker who you could smell before you saw. He was on a pretty decent wage (£50k+) but he was just a dirty nasty person. Ended up with disciplinary action after shouting at a client, left pretty soon afterwards.
Oh and my ex-boss who thought it would be funny to call me "weird", "mental" and "retard". He didn't last long either, after me and a co-worker recorded one of his distasteful verbal tyrades. I have a protected disability characteristic, and sacking him was cheaper than me taking them to court.0 -
Mine was the woman who managed to "lose" a fax which caused me to lose my last connection with the academic world as an exam invigilator for post-graduate US exams. She also bullied the cleaners.
We got her back though. Between the cleaners and me, she was given a huge dose of senna before setting off on a long car journey...“And all shall be well. And all shall be well. And all manner of things shall be exceeding well.”

Worked with a colleague who was a lovely guy but absolutely calamitious. Sent a printer engineer to Sunderland instead of Stoke because the lady who called to report the fault had the surname 'Sutherland'.
He also sent an email to Contact Centre Team Leader with the greeting 'Hi K**t' - a strange amalgamation of the guy's first name and surnames. Luckily the Team Leader took it well - emailing back 'I know I pester you IT guys a lot but there's no need to call me that!'.
Really surprised he didn't get disciplined at any stage during my two years there. Nicest bloke you could ever meet though!0 -
A woman who was as thick as two short planks but was overpromoted into a management position. I'm still shocked that she was employed at all. The company had several products it was marketing and when visitors came to our office, she literally made things up and came out with ridiculous statements off the top of her head. e.g. for an orange coloured plastic product, she said that it was made out of orange peel.0

The colleague who was a stereotypical 'dumb blonde' absolutely lovely girl but no two brain cells to rub together. She also slept with a guy just to get pregnant. She now raises her child alone with no contact from the father.
This type of behaviour leaked into work. She slept with one of the managers and then a week or so later, got recommended by this manager to be trained as a supervisor.
Not that the manager was any better, he had just got engaged to his long-term partner and also tried to hit on one of my friends who also worked there.
This was in a well known shop beginning with 'S' and ending in Bury.0 -
I wolk with a girl who is the biggest !!!!! ever. She talks about people on her own team and others all the time, but she is as good as gold and a massive suck up to the higher ups, which resulted in her getting promoted into a management position.
I very nearly quit my job as soon as I heard.Friendship is like peeing on yourself. Everyone can see it, but only you can feel the warm feeling that it brings0 -
One duty manager in a shop was talking nonsense like FOREVER, and always sniping at people.. no idea why.
Work went much better, when she was off.breathe in, breathe out- You're alive! Everything else is a bonus, right? RIGHT??0 -
In my last job, there was a manager in another office who could do no wrong in some of the directors eyes, grossly overpaid for what they did as against what they should be doing. I was the payroll manager for the company and was hauled into the FD's office for authorising payroll one month. Said manager took delight in calling FD to say that they had a phone call from an ex employee saying they had been paid for the 2nd time since leaving and I was obviously not capable of doing my job. I sat there looking blank then got the details of who the former employee was and checked the information my team had been given again for the payruns in question. I am good at my job, but I am not a mindreader and if said manager had not given the information, how were we supposed to know? I apologised to my team for them having to check through everything, but there was no apology to me for the unnecessary b******ing that I received from the FD.
One of the accountants had the most disgusting manners I have ever seen, he was revolting!A smile costs little but creates much0
