Deposit proof for lender

Am wondering if it's ok for me to use all of my own savings as the deposit instead of taking the gift as I stated on application,
Had initially stated 20% would come from gift but I could pay 100% of deposit from own funds instead now and take the gift at a later date and then add it back to my savings. Is this illegal or fraudulent? It would make it a bit easier as my funds I can show myself where as I'm worried that the gift source might find it a bit intrusive to send statements etc to the lender.
Also if we do still have to use the gift part, can they pay their part seperately from my part or do we need to have it all coming from the same account?

In essence it's 2 separate transaction if you can fund the deposit yourself. The day after you complete there's nothing to stop another party gifting you money. That's a matter between you and them.0
