Increasing mortgage during the buying process

Hi Everyone,
My girlfriend and I are first time buyers and will be moving into a help to buy (equity loan/new build) home in just under a month that we reserved about 5 months ago. As we get closer to crunch time we are starting to realise that our savings are falling just short of what we need for stamp duty and solicitor fees not to mention the cost of moving itself. We bought at the absolute max of our affordability and are paying a deposit just over the regular 5% on help to buy to make up for the shortfall. within this past 5 months i've received a salary increase that would have allowed us to borrow more, making our finances more comfortable.
So with this in mind, is it realistic or even possible to increase a mortgage offer this far down the line?
Cheers,
Sam
