Mortgage Application - Bank Statements

Hi,

Just preparing for a future mortgage application.

Does a Lender need to see Bank Statements from every single account you own.

ie.

Say you have a Current Account with one Bank

and

You have a Current Account, ISA, Saver Account.

Do I need to show the lender a statement for each of these separate accounts?

Cheers.

  • I was only asked for statements relating to my current account which shows my wages, direct, debits and day to day spending. I have another current account which I use or work expenses plus saving etc

This may be a really dumb question, but....

Do you think printed out bank statements from online accounts would be ok, or would they only accept Paper Statements?

Thought I'd check as thought that printed out statements could possibly be edited.

Internet statements are accepted by most lenders where they show, your name, the sort code, the account number, the lenders full URL.

  • They'll need to be able to see where your deposit is coming from, and where it's been (generally over the last 3 months)

That was a major pain in the bum for me as I'd been shifting money around loads, so had quite the paper trail. I'd also closed accounts which meant needing to go into bank and get them to print off some statements.
    Mortgage remaining: £42,260 of £77,000 (2.59% til 03/18 - 2.09% til 03/23)

    Savings target June 18 - £22,281.99 / £25,000
  • "Printer friendly" online statements are generally ok.

You may be required to provide statements for all active current accounts.

We recently applied for a mortgage direct with a lender and they asked to see all of our accounts, but these were okay to be printed off online banking as long as they had your address and account details on them.

For the solicitor to prove our identities, when we provided bank statements, these had to be the originals.
