Just about to Phone Paypal For Help!!!

Oops! i meant PAYPLAN!!! got paypal on the brain!

Just about to phone payplan for help with my debts, as at the moment, i'm left with about £40 per month to live on...not good!!!

Also just a quick question, I have a hire purchase car that goes back in December, will being on a DMP (if this is the case which i think it will be) affect my chance to get car finance (only about 1k for a car)?. I will need a car to get to and from work as I live out in the sticks.

Thanks all!

Thing is if it's gotten to the point where you need to go on a dmp your credit is likely to be shot anyway so except for extortionate apr companies you'll probably find it hard to get a decent car loan...

    Good luck with payplan! :)

So you are calling PayPlan, returning a car on hp in December and looking to go on a DMP. You then want to borrow more money, when you cant afford your existing liabilities?

Who do you think will want to lend you money?

Some people never learn, do they?

Save up £40 a month? with most bangers being about £300 this will take months.

Plus saving the £40 limits me to no food for months, in which i think i will die if i don't eat for 4 months

Plus in the long run, most bangers take up lots more money that a car that is more expensive...as they most likely break down alot!!

As i stated, i live out in a little village with long windy roads in and out of the place...which i don't fancy walking the 10 miles to the bus stop..expecially in a dark morning or dark night!!!

That's fair enough but there's no need to get defensive... all I was saying is to look at wider options than just getting a high APR loan.

If you do get set up on a dmp this would free up some extra money for you and you would have more than £40 per month to save up.

You would struggle to get further credit unless you went to someone like Yes Car Credit - but the APR is 30+% ..... and its further debt which you're trying to avoid?

If you are on a DMP then you will have a little more disposable income hopefully. You should if it has been organised right. We paid £185 for a Volvo with tax and mot for 4 months on ebay. We've never paid more than £300 for a car. We usually look in the local papers like Trade-it and go for something with about a years tax and MOT and replace it after the year. Our last one lasted 2 years and the only reason we got rid was because we needed something that could accomodate 3 children.

I am sorry if your idea of support is 'it's ok. Youv'e run up a load of debt you cant afford. Never mind. Reduce the amount each month you have to pay back, and then borrow some more money', then you are in the wrong place.

If alternatively, you would rather hear common sense, sound advice and some good guidance on how to change your attitude towards money and debt, then stick around here.

It is just a shame that a high percentage of people want to 'dump' their exisitng debt and then walk into more. It just does not make sense!
