Former employer giving no info about NEST scheme

My partner moved jobs earlier this year. His previous employer ran a scheme under NEST whereby both my partner and the employer contributed to the scheme. Thing is, we've got no idea what his membership no or any part of his plan is! We can't seem to access NEST online or contact them without some sort of identifying number, which we should've received in the welcome back years ago but this was never received.

My partner has emailed his employer and they are saying they can't help because the scheme is nothing to do with them :( what can we do to find out his pension info?!

All pensions can be found under NI number. Most will be fine with name, address and DOB too.

NEST will be able to provide details.

She should have received personal confirmation from NEST as soon as the employer enrolled her, and details of how to log in to her account to view contributions and balance.
The employer was obliged to confirm to NEST that employees had received all relevant information.

I was in a similar position, and discovered that 5 months after my pension contributions had started, NEST had never heard of me. I chased my employer HR and was finally signed up, but then letters containing all my personal details were sent to a former address because my emloyer hadn't passed on my new address.

Now, I have an account set up, but - 11 months after starting this job - my funds are apparently... £0.00...

    ...good luck!

The joys of auto enrolment! My OH was plonked into a 'pension' but we didn't even know who with, and despite chasing and chasing on leaving the job we got absolutely nowhere.

Thankfully just after the tax year end the provider in question wrote to him and we now have access to the whopping great pot he accumulated at 1% ees and ers contributions.

His new employer haven't put him into anything yet, despite their staging date being April 2015. In May they were 'looking into options'. He asked if employer's contributions would be back-dated when a scheme was finally set up, or whether he would paid the equivalent of the ers contributions into his salary for him to put into savings as they are not making the payments on his behalf. He was met with blank faces, and has heard nothing since.

I wouldn't be surprised if MANY firms haven't done this.

My employer isn't complying with their pension duties

"Not all employers have to provide a pension scheme straight away. Each employer has been given or will be given the specific date by which they need to comply with these new duties. Contact your employer in the first instance to find out when the law applies to them or find out if you're likely to be automatically enrolled into a workplace pension on GOV.UK.

If you require further information or advice in relation to your automatic enrolment rights then go to the Pensions Advisory Service website.

If you believe that your employer has failed to comply with these requirements then you can report this to us using our whistleblowing service."
