Solicitor requested meeting

Yet another question.
FTB
Had my mortgage offer
Appointed solicitor 7th October and paid for searches on 11th. I contacted them Tuesday to check for any updates and they were still waiting for searches. I've now had a letter requesting I make an appointment so I can sign some paperwork.
Anyone have an idea what paperwork this could be? I've already signed papers for them to act on my behalf.

Why not ring up and ask0

A contract? A mortgage deed? Just ask your solicitor?0

You would have thought that would have been my first question when arranging the appointment.
I just called and they said it was to sign the initial contract and discuss completion date. I don't know what an initial contract is but I'll soon find out Monday.0
