second job tax?

hi i have a job thats 32hrs a week, £17550 salary and am considering a second job of 7.5hrs a week which will earn me £3012 a year.

What would be my tax and N.I tax situation? I'm finding it so hard to find out across the internet. Thanks.

you will pay 20% tax on the 3012 i.e. £602.40 per year


and no NI (NI doesn't kick in until you earn round 150 per week on that job)

@CLAPTON thank you! and then a separate 20% on the other job?

As your first job uses up your personal allowance, the second one will be taxed at 20%. The second is PAYE, not self-employed?

Regarding the NI this will not start to be paid until you earn over £155 a week or monthly equivalent in most cases; but if your second employer has a connection with your first employer or they are the same employer different rules may apply and you could be paying NI on both jobs as if they were the one job.
