Historic P60s

Lender has requested old P60s, on application we obviously applied with most recent years salary from 2014 - 2015 P60s and payslips. We've now sent old P60 with a lower salary from 2013 - 2014. Any reason why a lender would want to see this? in my eyes couldn't see what effect it would have on our ability to re-pay, it's a £2k increase from £13k - £15k. My income last year is £44k self employed, we are looking to borrow £155k.
