Broker got my mortgage declined

Hi guys, I am in a bit of a panic now. We had an offer accepted on a place last week. We recently had another offer fall through a 3-4 weeks before we had an offer accepted on this place.
The broker has been ignoring me for since Thursday last week and I just got a call today to say the application has been declined because the most recent credit check did not go through. I am so annoyed as I didn't give him permission to do another credit check and specifically said I would stay with the same mortgage and put up the extra £3k (price difference between this property and the one that fell through).
He said it was an issue on my girlfriends credit report which has just caused another headache. She is a twin and as 2 letters different from her sisters name so their credit reports are always getting mixed up or merged. I just bought a credit report of Equifax and it confirms that they have again merged the credit reports.
Now my broker has sent me through another mortgage and said we should go for that as it's cheaper and and has no upfront fees.
Just want some advice on how can get this issued with the credit reports resolved. Would hate for this property to fall through because of a computer check. If anything, are debt has reduced and cash has gone significantly up.
Also, with this broker. When the last property fell through we were told that it was still valid for a few months. Never gave him or the bank permission to do another credit check

Brokers don't request credit checks, lenders do.
If you've requested finance they don't need your permission.0 -

An application allows the lender to do a check. He said it was an issue on my girlfriends credit report which has just caused another headache. And you should now be grateful for having that error brought to your attention and you can get it fixed. It may be an idea to get this fixed before you apply for another mortgage.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. The Bank does need your permission to accept your credit score. They accept the Broker word that you have given it.
A tricky scenario as is always the case when a borrower loses faith in their broker.
Easier to stick where you are but you can change broker if you would feel more comfortable.I am a Mortgage Broker

Surely you accept being credit checked when making your application?
I'm sure the T&C's covered this with my Nationwide app.
On the initial application yes. Second time round we were not told of any credit check, signed any papers etc.
We asked before if we had to do another credit check and got told no if we continue with the same application. As long as it was within 90 days.0 -
Just to confirm you submitted an application you were accepted for (did you ever get the offer?) for house 1. Lost that house and wanted to keep the same mortgage for house 2?
If that is the case there was no getting around a credit check in this scenario. Any changes to the application will involve a refreshed credit check and changing the property address on the application would trigger this. The broker has done nothing wrong here - apart from maybe some communications. You never would have got through another application without the check even if same lender and loan amount unchangedI am a Mortgage Adviser

If the credit reference has incorrect information you can complain to the agency.0
