Train Ticket Price - Can someone apply some logic to this?

As one of the tickets is not only a season but also zonal ticket there is no need for the train to stop at West Drayton, the off peak day single with gold card discount is £7.45 and valid from 0930-2359. Total price should be 2 x £7.45, so £14.90.Employee of a National Rail train company.0

I once went from Victoria to Reading via Ascot (changing at Clapham Junction) because I arrived in London by National Express. I recall it was considerably cheaper than the Paddington route, so this could be another option (especially if Victoria is more convenient for you to get to).0
