Cleaning the bath

Options
Before I get shot down on the amount of threads about this - I have been reading on a new cleaning mission I am about to embark upon and have been using the indexed collections for reference.

But I don't want to do a 'deep clean' on the bath, don't have scum to get rid of, or kids toys marks etc. But on a daily or rather weekly basis what should I do to clean the bath?

I have a spray bottle with watered down bleach and another with a vinegar / water mix.

My daughter (3) baths every 2-3 nights or sometimes showers. So its not especially dirty but want to keep on top of it so I don't think it needs an overnight soak of hot water and bio washing powder or a sprinkling of bicarb and a spritz of vinegar every week...

Any suggestions for weekly cleaning?

  • I use neat washing up liquid, leave it overnight, then just wash off the next morning with a cloth. Works very well for me, and so easy.

To be honest, I keep a microfibre cloth on the side .... as I am about to pull the plug I give the bath a quick wipe around.... then I pull the plug. And if I'm feeling energetic I'll then quickly grab the microcloth, wipe the bathroom floor over and rinse out the cloth in the fast-disappearing bath water.

That keeps on top of it on a day to day basis.

I do the same as Pasturesnew, otherwise I use neat flash. Brilliant stuff.

DH and I take turns to "clean" the bathroom each day.

This takes 10 minutes. We have shower in the bath with shower door. We have a few microfiber clothes in the airing cupboard. We also have a Karcher water sucker. Use this on the shower door and sometimes on the tiles but finish off with cloth. Then spray Cif round the bath and quickly rub over and rinse then wipe dry. Spray the sink and rub over toilet then rinse and finish off with cloth.

The bathroom always look immaculate as this is done for 10 mins each day after the last one has showered.

A quick spray with diluted star drops, wipe round and then a warm water slosh / shower down does the job for me.
