Wedding Insurance

Morning all,
Has anyone come across a wedding insurance company who will cover you for deposits already paid?
Buying the actual insurance slipped my mind somewhat and now I've paid several deposits. There are none I'm hugely concerned about but I know I should have cover *just* in case.
We were going to go with John Lewis but they only cover deposits paid 14 days prior to the policy start date which is not helpful.
Thanks in advance!
Kate

Could you ask the other parties involved to cancel the bookings and refund the deposits, then rebook and pay deposits again straight away. Could be quite a faff if you have a lot to do but at least technically your deposits would then be after insurance was sorted.0

Many wedding insurance policies do cover deposits already paid. So do check the policy. The one I used for my own wedding didn't have a 14 day clause.

The main thing to understand with insurance is they only pay out if your supplier goes bankrupt and into formal administration.
What this means is that they do not cover you if your supplier didn't turn up or you're not happy with their service. The insurer's expect you to deal with the supplier directly for that sort of issue.
So it's still very important to use reputable suppliers. I've seen some brides think it's a carte blanche cover for everything and then take silly risks.
Lastly insurance only covers you for situations outside your control. So the death of a close family member. Freak weather (eg flood), that sort of thing. It doesn't cover you if the relationship breaks down.0
