Frozen food into slowcooker

Can it be used ? I've got beef joint, can I just put into slowcooker?

    its not advised but i've done it with no issues
  • I also do the same with frozen foods.You can also do without any problem.

    It was only a few weeks ago that I did the exact same. I found a frozen beef joint in the freezer and just popped it straight into the slow cooker with onions, carrots and potatoes and stock and left it on low for about 11 hours (which is how long we were out for) came back and it was perfect :) I did put it on high for about 30 mins just because I had the time, but no issues and very tasty :)

    Go for it. The time that the joint is within the danger zone being between about 5 and 60 degrees isn't long enough. You've got about 2 hours to get it from 5 to 60. 15 to 45 is the very dangerous part of the zone. The time that you've got the temperature above 70 degrees is also long enough to kill all bacteria that may have grown whilst in the danger zone.
