Reason for opening new account?

Hi all!
Just received my letter re starting DMP from CCCS today so need to get on and open a basic bank account at a bank who i don't owe money to. I have looked about and think i will go with Clydesdale Bank as you get a maestro card which can be used in ATM's and on the internet for paying for stuff. Just wondered what reason i should give them for opening the account - do i tell them that i am starting a DMP and need another account or do i just say that i am not satisfied with service at RBofS? Any help appreciated

Do you need to give a reason

I changed banks last year, and I'm sure I didn't tell em why.
Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches

  • I didn't think you needed to give a reason?

If you do I would just say you're unhappy with the service at RBOS - I'm not sure if a dmp would give them a reason to decline your application?
  • You could just say you want to run the aco!!!!! alongside each other and use one for bills and the other for day to day stuff so you can manage your money better, if they ask for a reason
