Oops! That was a typo - should have said Grandaughter:eek: (now have two of each)
Yes we had a great holiday, lot of travelling but very enjoyable. Have to say that the Americans are very polite and hospitable, if anyone saw you looking perplexed at a map for instance they were very helpful. Very pleasantly surprised as we were not expecting this in a City like NY. Service was very good everywhere, perhaps encouraged by the blatant expectation of tipping over there.
One of the highlights was a trip to the Space Centre at Cape Canaveral, Florida. Amazing to think that in the 60's and 70's they were sending astronauts into space, before computers or even calculators. Compared with the basic technology of cars on the road at that time it was certainly an eye-opener.

Good morning on this :A Remembrance Sunday:Ait is very dark still but hoping it is not raining for the Cenataph Service In London which I shall be watching on TV in the comfort of my own home.I will be remembering my own Hero today my DH :Awho died as a result of serving his Country in the "Royal Navy" many years ago .
My dear Dad was in the Merchant Navy during the war.hardly talked about the bad bits but loved to talk about the places he visited. Slowly over the years, we realised that he'd done the Arctic Convoys, plus had one ship torpedoed and sunk in PacificMorning all. Hope everyone is well. Not read back so bubbs hoping your not in pain today.
I don't think I will be seeing my dd & her bf at Christmas but we are having a mini Christmas late Nov in a barn in the Cotswolds. Nice weekend awayI would like to get them some lovely gifts but I won't be spending all that much as I want to give her money at Christmas so she can treat herself as I have no idea about designer brands she likes lol.
Anyway I'm doing a cosy night in hamper and so far on my list I have
Photo mugs
Hot chocolate
Marshmallows
Spoons ( are the personalised spoons from Kellogg's still available please ?
As they would be great )
Toblerone
Popcorn
Alcohol
Fluffy socks
PJs
Body shop body lotion ( thanks FC )
Champney bubble bath
Candles ( thanks OP from boots points offer )
Dog onesie lol

I thought you might like to see a pic of my new dog. I don't have him yet as I saw him today at a rescue centre and chose him because he's so friendly and gorgeous :A His name is Hugo and he's an American Bulldog cross. I need to wait for a home visit before I can bring him home; they told me upto 10 days but I don't know how I'll wait that long as I'm too excited :j
Hugo is gorgeous Evangeline, good luck with the homecheck (I do homechecks in my local area) and thank you for choosing a Rescue Dog, the best breed there is :AMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

Evening Claire, I don't think ignoiring this sort of childish boasting is bowing down for as you know many children react very badly when challenged so just leave them and they will get over it on their own, lol ....hope it all goes well for you xxx
