Such a lot of Elite good news and nice things happening today :j

I've been waiting for confirmation of an appointment in December which I assumed was going to be horribly late in the afternoon. But I checked the website today, didn't realise this but it turns out to be 1.30. So I will still be at a loose end for an hour or 90 mins but I will just get a Greggs baguette and a juice and find myself a corner to hide in with a book and the time will soon go

So that's a relief, its been nagging at the back of my head for months, wish I'd checked earlier

We went out for lunch today to a very pretty rustic French restaurant in Chester - this was a Win from a facebook draw back in September but its taken up until now to extract OH from work
    - very lovely food, still full, so we have not even bothered with supper yet which might just end up being a slice of cheesecake.
Originally we were going to Neros afterwards for hot chocolate but OH said he would have been asleep in an armchair and they would have had to evict us at closing time :rotfl:

We had carrot and coriander soup with toasted fennel seed for starters, French bread. OH had belly pork and I had pan fried chicken breast, Petis pois in a creamy sage sauce and beautiful tender veg - boiled new pots , carrot batons, red cabbage - all beautifully cooked

oh no :(glad they got in ok though :) i got stopped on the way back home after going through security as they wanted to check in my hand luggage case :o i had bought a large yankee candle for $2 & had wrapped it up loads to protect it from getting smashed & the security woman unwrapped it all & swabbed it & the inside of my case & all i could think was i hope somebody who does drugs hadn't touched it in the shop :eek: all was ok though as i didn't get arrested :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Border control in NY seem to be very zealous in their duties. Last time BF went through he also got into trouble. All he did was move a pen slightly on a desk and he was threatened :(
At one point this time they finally finished with eldest child and gave her her passport and told her to sit and wait.
She then realised they were concentrating on BF and then the real panic set in - what would they do if she was allowed in but not BF - best man at his friends wedding
BF is one of the most innocent of souls ever, apart from having his cars vandalised, broke into and driven into the back of on numerous occasions he has never had any involvement with the police.

I had just decided to go out and get some soup, so I checked my Asda account. On my phone the soup multi buy is showing but on my iPad it isn't. Now I don't now whether to go or not. I can't understand why it is showing on one but not the other. Any ideas?

How do you accrue points with Table talk?
I vaguely seem to think I am on their email list and they send me discount meal codes ...

You need to pick up a loyalty card from one of the TableTable pubs and then get it scanned every time you buy drinks or food to accrue points. The card needs to be registered online (I think you get 500 points for registering) and you can enter your birthday, partners birthday, wedding anniversary and one other anniversary during the year - anniversarys get you a free bottle of wine when you buy 2 main meals off the main menu, birthday ofers vary a bit (might be free starters, free desserts or 2 4 1 mains. You trade the points in for offers - 500 points currently gets you 2 fish & chip mains, money off your bill or free kids meals or sundaes. The offers can change during the year. Its surprising how quickly the points mount up.

Earlier this year 500 points equated to 2 free burger meals - and you could choose 2 of the dearest (£9.99 ones) if you wanted.
