More than twice the cost. Again, this wasn't the item I saw earlier.

Not quite twice the cost - but I think Sains has 'always' (or at least long) been out of line price-wise:

    Sainsbury's Basics Vinegar (568ml)

    Store_3.15px.png
    40p 7p / 100ml

      21p

      21p
The one that got me last was seeing the price of the Salted Peanuts. I think Sains are well expensive on those.

And look at this compared to T and A:eek::

Sainsbury's Basics All Purpose Cleaner (1L)

    80p 8p / 100ml

      50p

If you buy just three or four Basics items you are adding several pence on each one of them to your shopping bill! And, buy those, or other three/four, every week and over the year the pennies amount up into pounds!

I can't find the item, it must have been the Rice Pudding after all:rotfl:. I have of course taken some of the most marked differences and highlighted them - I did the opposite for the Avs S list. But it has to be said (or maybe it doesn't but I'm saying it anyway:p and drawing LOUD attention to it -

SAINSBURY'S YOU ARE REALLY EXPENSIVE ON YOUR BASICS ITEMS!

) that the items on which they're not higher priced are very much fewer than the ones on which they are. Even items such as Furniture Polish - 6p mark-up for buying S version, Gel Air Freshener 11p more expensive than T (I won't try to compare Morries as there's different weights and my maths at the moment will prove to be my undoing:laugh:) - Long Grain Rice 20p more expensive, Coffee S 60p, A and M 47p, so another 13p onto your bill compared to shopping at either of there. I think Fromage Frais is 8p more expensive. Chocolate Mousse - S Basics costs 50p:eek:. Though it is a six pack - although A have moved to that and they charge 27p (so 23p more - this really is amounting to pounds - even if you only have four in a year, you are nearly at £1 more expensive just from one item). Apple Pies 5p more, Flour 55p (10p more expensive than T/M/A) - the list could just go on - and, with Savvy, it probably would do - but someone best just slap my hands... (or maybe a comprehensive list would be a useful thing?) Even when S are the same price as elsewhere, e.g. the Salt at 25p, the version is S is significantly smaller (S 750g, T and M 1kg each).

Thanks TM I have signed up to their emails in the hope I might get a discount. Can you used two codes at the same time with them?

Must check with DD2 as it's her machine and I know she ordered online with a code that came with the machine so she may have been sent another as she has had it nearly a year now.

Managed to get a pick of my free gift from Boots today, looks like 2 things missing from what was thought to be in it. The leaflet inside says both options for 6 of the things and Option 2 for the 2 things I don't so guess there are levels of free gift. But still a nice freebie.

The nail varnish sets are in the background, shame not more of us managed to get this one. :o

That looks a good freebie :T

I noticed that Mr A (at least in my area) has put petrol down by another penny a litre:T. Morries have yet to catch up (as of yesterday, I suspect they will have followed suit by tomorrow) but I can tell that the Sains. that is not that far away from me but is too close to a Mr A has now followed suit, because the Sains that is closest to me is now exactly 1.2p per litre more expensive than A!:D

With the extra Nectar points on fuel for the next few days (till the end of the month), some of us are now, in effect, getting under £1 per litre petrol. Should be, for me, 98.9p (taking into account the points) compared to Mr A £1.03.7. So I think Mr S (more so the right Mr S:D) is good for that at the moment.

However, I have started shopping in T which is quite close to me now even though my closest is (the more expensive of the S's fuels:() S. What I think I might do is hold off a little from shopping until I need a few more items and then buy my usual Eday Value items and take advantage of a few Sains branded offers in T. That's if there are any brands that are any good value on offer prices of course:rotfl:, which I doubt:D:cool::rotfl:.

Savvy Buy Morrisons? Don't they realise these were 2 for £2 earlier in the year when I bagged mine for Christmas?:rotfl:

    Bassett's Liquorice Allsorts (460g)

    £1.96:(

    Maynards Wine Gums (460g)

    £1.96 (tut, shakes head):rotfl:

Anyone who has come late to the Elite thread - commiserations - otherwise, everyone else, should have got theirs back then - I did say, at the time, that I didn't think we would see another offer as good as the shortlived 2 for £2.

Just get some Dominion's bags from Aldi and fill a carton full of those;):rotfl:.
  • Just popping on to confirm the coke zero is all over, failed shop at 7ish tonight x Canny win them all! :)
